What to see and do around Inverness
 |
There are many historic places to visit in and around Inverness itself. Loch Ness is only a short drive away where you can visit Urquhart Castle (pictured left) or the Loch Ness Monster Exhibition Centre amongst others. Culloden Battlefield is only a few miles from Fairfield Villa and there are various castles and gardens within the surrounding area. There are also numerous cafes and restaurants to choose from while you are out and about. |
| Apart from the historic landmarks around Inverness there is also plenty wildlife to be seen. The Moray Firth estuary is home to Bottlenose Dolphins, Grey seals and a variety of birds to name a few. There are regular boat tours of the Moray Firth and on the Black Isle a few minutes drive away there is the Black Isle wildlife park with many animals for you to see and feed if you like. |

When you have had enough of trailing the countryside there are plenty of shops to be visited including the new Eastgate Centre which boasts many familiar high street stores and in and around the main centre there are a variety of arts and crafts shops. Within the centre itself there is a giant food hall and there are many pubs and clubs to be visited during the day, and at night of course. |
